SUPPLIERS

In order to register in Acea works qualification Systems (water, electro-mechanical and electrical works), suppliers should fill out the TenP Questionnaire, which is based on the 10 Global Compact principles (in the areas: human rights, environment, employment, anti-corruption) and a QAS Questionnaire on quality, environment and safety. These initiatives, combined with an internal and external control system, are designed to promote sustainability in the supply chain.

CAPITAL MARKETS

In managing relations with the capital markets, Acea aims to obtain the best sustainability conditions in the procurement of financial products and services and to make investing in our company safe and well regarded by investors (equity and debt). One case fully meeting the above criteria was the funding obtained from the EIB (European Investment Bank) in 2015 for the implementation of a number of endeavors contemplated in the 2015-2019 Business Plan, which were found to be fully consistent with environmental and social sustainability principles.

EMPLOYEES

Numerous engagement initiatives have been undertaken vis à vis the Group’s staff. In 2015 a considerable amount of training activities were carried out as well as a survey on work-related stress and a focus group on this topic. The individual evaluation process was extended to the entire workforce, which involved measuring the performance achieved as well personal leadership and other skills; within this process, special attention was paid to collaboration between manager and employee, as the preferred method of managing human resources, and potential, individually targeted paths for development, growth and training were defined.

CUSTOMERS

Customers are also users and citizens. The networks services are indeed collective in nature and are essential for the quality of life and for local development.
Acea qualifies as a customer oriented company and Acea2.0 programme implements the development of contact channels and sets out challenging performance targets for the quality of the services provided.

COMMUNITY

As regards relations with the community, Acea intends to act as a social innovation agent, by implementing initiatives, such as Acea for Rome, designed to encourage the development of urban quality projects. In addition, through citizenship awareness initiatives, Acea contributes to promoting knowledge and awareness on the use of natural resources and the importance of proper services management.

ENVIRONMENT

The environment is the essential reference scenario for all the Group’s activities. A responsible and efficient use of resources, the preservation of natural areas where our facilities and service networks are located, the physical impacts and externalities on the environment generated by operational processes, are all aspects that Acea oversees and monitors on a daily basis.

INSTITUTIONS

In the performance of its activities of planning and providing services, of interaction with the surrounding environment and of search for solutions to common issues, Acea is constantly engaged in interactions with Institutions - independent authorities, local and government agencies. The Group actively participates in opportunities for consultation, of which, in turn, it is an active promoter.

ACEA

With a view to creating long-term value, Acea pursues the optimal management of its strategic assets - both tangible and intangible. The analysis of the businesses’ operating performance, combined with the group’s economic, financial and managerial (service performance) data are subject to monitoring in order to achieve continuous improvement and strengthen the internal organization. The change management and business transformation initiative currently in progress is aimed at implementing a new corporate vision. The Acea of the future will be digital, multichannel, inclusive and proactive; this is the first milestone pursued through this great effort, in a context of general renewal of the Utilities industry, towards new global challenges and new service models. This process will require the constant engagement of all players and the development of integrated collaboration methods involving employees, organizational structures, business partners and suppliers.
